  How can I best convert CFHD to Pro Res?

  I had someone digitize a 16mm film for me. I got it as a CFHD mov file with 3296 × 2472 dimensions and it seems to be 25 fps (according to the information provided by QT7). I need to convert it to Pro Res for use in a FCP7 timeline that’s 1080 24 fps. Any advice? Compressor or MPEG Streamclip? Do I need to know anything about the settings? I’m complete unfamiliar with this format.

  That’s the CINEFORM codec. One that GoPro owns. But you can easily convert that to ProRes 422 with Compressor. The 24fps will be tricky…why was it converted to 25fps? film is 24fps.

  there are settings within Compressor that can change the playback speed of the new file to 24fps,
  but i don’t know what they are!
  it;s potentially hazardous as a simple error would lead to an un-usable file
  so i simply open the file in CinemaTools and “Conform” it.
