  • How to create a Quicktime video with 5.1 audio?

Hello everyone, I’m new to this site. I am not a competent user of FCP and still have much to learn about the basics but need advice for an ultimate goal – 5.1 audio (6 channel presentation) married to the original video file. I would like to be able to make a Quicktime video that has 5.1 encoded audio married to it instead of a two channel presentation.

From what I understand Final Cut Pro is able to do this. I was able to import an AC3 file into Final Cut Pro and 6 discrete channels of audio did automatically come up in the Timeline window. If I line that AC3 file(s) in sync with the video file and bounce as a Qucktime supposedly I will end up with a 6 channel presentation.

Does anyone know if I am headed in the right direction?

    Thank you for your time!
