  FCP7 Thumbnails

  Hello,
  After compressing a sequence out of FCP 7 a random thumbnail appears at the start of the movie. How can I change that? I thought it was called a “Poster Frame” but can’t find any info on this.

  you mean in the quicktime file?

  open it in Quicktime player7, park on the frame you like,
  and save.

  the file should now have that frame as it’s icon

  Thanks for getting back to me. I tried your suggestion and it didn’t work. When I open the video in QT7 the poster image I set with your method is correct. However, the QT movie as it sits on my HD or on Vimeo is a random image. I tried to set the poster frame in FCP 7 by going to “Mark” > “Set Poster Frame” and that didn’t work either. Is there a way to set the poster frame in FCP 7 before I send it to Compressor?
