  • FCP Sequence Timecode is different then QT and AIFF Exports.

Here’s an issue I’ve been dealing with for a week now. I’m running FCP 7.0.3 and OS 10.6.8.

I’m editing a feature using Prores 422 HQ that is exactly 92 minutes. However when I export the movie to quicktime (as one example), the timecode show 92-minutes, 5.5-seconds.

The kicker is that if you take the exported quicktime file and import it back into Final Cut Pro, it states the original duration of exactly 92 minutes again. There is no video/audio sync issues anywhere.

Any guesses on why this is happening?

    I’ve tried exporting through
    – Quicktime Movie
    – Using Quicktime Conversion
    – Audio to AIFF(s)…
    – Using Compressor
..and everytime the timecode is off by 5.5 seconds.

    Editing Timebase: 23.98
    Timeline: Non-Dropframe
    Compressor: Apple ProRes 422 HQ
Render Codec: Same as Sequence Codec
