  • Software to analyse and match video clips.

    Hi everyone,

I am working on a project that requires me to re-ingest the tapes and match them with the existing sequence edit in FCP7. The difficulty is that the tapes that have initially been ingested are renamed/cut randomly and I have to manually find each take. There are about 30 tapes with no timecodes (start at 00:00:00:00) and I have a guide video track to match to.

I was wondering if anyone of you know of a software that would analyse the sequence/h264 video file that I have and browse through the tapes and show me matching shots? It would save me a lot of time and show me if I have all the materials I need.

Any ideas are very welcome. Thanks in advance.

If there was, we wouldn’t have having our assistant editors here be eye-matching and over cutting footage all the time…but they do. Sorry man, no such thing exists.
