I’m editing on FCP 7.03. I’m trying to change the default transition Cross Dissolve from 1:00 to :20.

I clear the default, then change the length to :20 and set it as the new default. For some reason when I choose that setting in my timeline the dissolve length is :48!

I’ve never had this happen before. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

What happens when you select the transition on the timeline, shift+right click, and change your properties there?

Hi Dave. The frame rate for the footage and Timeline are both 59.94

    Hi Mark,

When I do that it shows ;48 frames. Of course i can change it there, but that defeats the purpose, since I have lots of cross dissolves (all at 20 frames) I need to make.

Actually Dave – trashing preferences sorta worked. However I needed to set the cross dissolve default to 10 frames instead of 20, so it would work on the 59.94 timeline. Does that make sense?
