Anyone know how this shot was created? (example incl
Can’t figure out how the camera zoom motion is so smooth, figured the cip is reversed, with it in focus on the letters, kids taking them off.
Guessed that they shoot at a lower frame rate and do some math to work out how slowly to pull the camera back so that when sped up to its current fps the camera motion is smooth and the kids fast, then add some stabilization to the image in post? Or am I barking up the wrong tree…

Or you shoot a locked off wide shot at high rez, and do your synthetic dolly move and reverse motion in post.

I thought that could be the case, surely that’d mean 4k, if exporting at hd right?

Maybe, maybe not. The shot has enough blur and etc. going on that it may not have needed 4k to achieve. But it’s just a theory. For the short distance and time of the shot involved, I find it hard to distinguish between the result of a digital post-zoom, and an actual camera move on a slider or dolly track. WHat I will stipulate to is that the motion suggests the thing was done in reverse, with kids pulling the letters off a finished composition.
