  A masking/animation question.

  Hi, I’m working on this animation project. This little character is going to be walking though the woods.

  He has different mouth inserts for various mouth positions.

  

  

  As you can clearly see, there is a definite line wear the pieces come together.

  I’m going to need to get rid of this some how.

  The only thing I could think of would be to find a color close to the skin tone, then create a solid, and then mask around the gap frame by frame.

  Obviously this would take a long time and I’m not even sure if I could get it to look that good.

  Any other suggestions?

  Dang. I don’t have that many heads. I may just end up using one mouth the entire time being that it’s only a 30 sec spot. I’ll just clay the mouth in and touch up the paint.

  You could use the clone stamp tool right in After Effects or bring it over to Photoshop and do it there. I’m sure you can look up some info on the clone stamp tool if you’ve never used it before. I think that’ll look a lot better than using a solid.
