  CS3 crawling on my dual quad-core

  I inherited a macpro dual quad-core, 3ghz g5 with 8 gig of ram & ATI radeon x19000 XT. Honeslty, I computer-stupid so I’m not sure what all that means related to AE. I’m working on a project with no moving video footage (stills with 3d camera), and AE has recently become very slow. Keystrokes for selecting layers are delayed, moving the playhead, etc. Feels more like my g5 two computers ago. Any help would be great, deadline looming.

  The files are pretty big, about 4500X5500 and I’m using 4 or 5 at a time. I’m using no effects, lights, shadows, etc.
