So, it’s time to upgrade our office Mac Pro.

At home, we edit using iMac i7 27″. They have for some years been faster and better than the old Pro.

We will continue using Final Cut Pro.

Attached hardware is an AJA Io HD, connected to a plasma TV, for checking the program output.

The IoHD and the drives are connected either over FW800 or eSATA.

We are choosing betweeen a good iMac or the Mac Pro.

One disadvantage with the Mac Pro is that it seems to have only Thunderbold connections. It does have one HDMI port (where I can connect my TV, viewing the FCP program output, eliminating the IoHD?)

We also use the old Mac Pro burning DVDs on demand, using two built-in DVD/DL burners. That does not come with any of the above… 🙂

Both machines seems to be delivered with Mavericks installed.

Will Maverick fully support the Final Cut Studio 3?

    The iMac, OTOH, does
