  How do I set up a custom sequence and keep the quality high?

  I have over 400 exercises that were shot 1920 x 1080 and unfortunately in H.264

  These have been converted to Apple Pro Res 422 LT (dimensions kept at 1920 x 1080) in MPEG stream clip and now need to be converted to a frame size of 480 x 383 and exported as .mp4 to fit into the display screen of a client’s exercise machine.

  What is the best way to set up sequences to match?
  Do I set up the sequences in the custom size, keep the footage at it’s dimensions and scale it down to fit? If so, how can I keep the sharpness?

  What compression format in Squeeze or compressor could I use that won’t change the custom size? I’m only asking this as the test exercise I did was exported very blurry (even after rendering) and when imported into Squeeze the custom size had change to 480 x 382.

  Don’t edit in that frame size…edit full size, export a full sized master, and then compress that to match the delivery frame size and codec requirements.

  Thank you Shane for answering my question.
  I just found the geometry tab in compressor so I think I can work this out now so the exported sequence isn’t so distorted.
