  • Why are .doc files in capture scratch?

Posted by Alyssa Venetucci on May 13, 2014 at 4:36 pm

Using a Sony HDV dock for the first time with FCP7 – when using log and capture, I’ve noticed that a few .doc files, maybe 2-3 right now out of 50 something clips, appear in my capture scratch along with the footage. (See screenshot.) I can’t open them and they don’t appear in the project. Just wondering if I can delete them or if them contain some pertinent information.

The .doc means a Word document. Do they open in word?

And sorry, you didn’t post a pic.

Sorry, first post, didn’t realize I had to embed the image after uploading.

To clarify, the files end in the extension “.mov-1” but under “kind” is it labeled a document. No application that I have will open it.

Hmmm…might be a corrupted QT file. Is any footage missing that this might represent?
