OK, here’s probably the dumbest question, but my clients’ photographer is not helping clarify at all, so please bear with me.
My client has shot using CinefForm codec, 2K footage. When I bring it into Final Cut, it plays fine in the timeline, looks dark when I stop but playing it looks lighter (whichever is the desired brightness, at this point is irrelevant to me). I am making a fast rough cut for the client to show the sponsors and will need to export out tomorrow a .mov
So when I applied a small Motion scale and rendered, I got CineForm watermarks on all 4 corners of the image. When I export out a test strip from the timeline, same thing: I must be missing some relevant codec, I guess? I did indeed install the viewing codec which can be downloaded from CineForm, but perhaps there is some purchase which needs to be made?
Many thanks for any light upon this issue.
