    So, I shot video and captured it in FCP 5 (I know, dark ages), But, the person that I am sending footage to, uses FCP X. I shot on mini dv. How can I capture clips and export them (in what form?), so that they can edit in FCP X.

    Just capture them as you normally do in FCP 5. The same format (DV/NTSC) exists in FCX.

    If space or bandwidth for file transfer is a problem, you can export the files in h.264 and fcpx can handle that just fine.
