  Issue opening projects

  I’ve been having a lot of issues opening project files. If I open from the file I usually have to force quit, and then if I open within FCP it takes forever to open. Then when it does open every runs really slow and or I get the beach ball. Everything was working fine up til a week ago.

  I’m running mavericks, 10.9.2 so don’t know if that’s an issue. I don’t remember updating recently.

  I’ve tried deleting prefs too. Wondering if there’s anything else before I gotta start digging for my discs and reinstall

  Check the size of your project files. I was handed one that was 49MB the other day and it was very slow to open, beach-balling, etc.

  If you do a lot of saving previous sequences the project can get really big very easily, I shift early cuts that I want to save into another project to try and avoid it.

  Just a thought… I expect someone will be along with better ideas soon.
