I used MPEG Streamclip and converted all my vids (like 1000 of them!) to ProRes 422. Now that I’m trying to edit in FCP, every time I create a clip it shows a red bar and I need to render it in order to see what I’m doing. This is going to become seriously tedious after a while. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks so much in advance!!

Your sequence settings and clip settings don’t match. What are your sequence settings…it’s in the SEQUENCE menu.

Make a new sequence. Add one clip. When FCP asks “would you like the sequence and clip settings to match,” click yes. Then you should have no render bars.
