As it usually does with FCP, this just appeared this morning, and I’ve been unable to find an answer as to how to change it back to the original settings. The picture I took shows that my timeline is now, both video and audio, divided into two lines, the bottom of which has a series of tiny squares.

All I want to do is change it back to my normal good old FCP Timeline, with simple rows for both video and audio.

Thanks for any help regarding this!!

Press Control U to go back to standard setup, or go to Window>Arrange>Standard. Barring that you can trash the preferences to start fresh but you’ll lose some things like favourites.

There are two curbs separating video tracks from audio tracks. You can actually drag them apart and then they stick. It was many years ago when I ran into it. I’ll try to recall how to fix it.
