  Getting slow-mo footage to run at normal speed (59.94 at 29.97)

  Hello,

  I recently shoot footage at 59.94 frames a second at 1080p. I converted it to 29.97 in cinema tools and imported it into FCP. In a timeline set to a frame rate of 29.97 I have beautiful slow-motion.

  However, I want to have some of the footage play at normal speed, so I set the speed of the clips to 200%.

  The footage does not run smoothly – it looks speed up and jerky like a old movie – clearly it is running too fast.

  I don’t understand, as surely this footage was shot at half speed, so to make it normal again I should double it.

  Thoughts please!

  This is why I duplicate clips before I run Cinema Tools on it, so I have one copy running at normal speed.

  Convert that clip from the master camera backup to ProRes, and 29.97 if you can (use Compressor)…and see how that looks.
