MY FCP 7 is quite sluggish on my Mac Pro Quad Core. I edit XDCAM sequences and I can’t seem to figure out why everything is sluggish and slow.

Should I be cleaning up my FCP preferences, or cache files? Anything like that? Please someone point me in the right direction, thanks!

There are lots of posts on the COW about how to trash preferences and repair permissions. Additionally, I always run Disk Warrior whenever anything weird or unexpected happens with FCP. Digital Rebellion has some terrific tools to do this and other maintenance functions. Some are free.

    Hi Peter,

Are you runing FCP7 on the new Mac Pro “trash can”? I’m looking for some info, that it is possible or if there is any problems with it. Because I’m planing to buy it but I have some of my projects, that I can’t switch to FCP X yet.

    Thanks and best regards

    David
