  720p60 29.97 – shot slo mo but WITH AUDIO

  I been given a interview project shot with two HVX200 cams in 720p60.
  One cam shot 29.97…the other 59.94 (why? who knows)

  The 29.97 footage is in slow motion, but WITH the audio that I need.

  Yes…that’s right.

  SO…I need some help here to correct this and get as close as I can to syncing audio and video in edit between these two shots.

  Compressor? Do a hack job in FCP with motion percentages?

  Because the standard for 720p is 59.94fps…60fps. Thus why it is called 720p60. Now the issue isn’t with THAT footage, it is the OTHER footage. The 29.97 footage is the issue. You said it is in slow motion…meaning that they shot 59.94, but it was IMPORTED as 29.97. That was wrong…it should be imported as 59.94.

  You will need to re-import via Log and Transfer. And in the L&T preferences, uncheck the option to REMOVE PULLDOWN. That will make it import properly…at 59.94.

  Shane-

  Thank you for the quick response. I wish I could re-import from the source P2’s. That, however, isn’t an option as I was given this on an external drive already captured through Log/Transfer.

  See: pickle.

  As an aside, I’m a videographer first, editor when need be. Wish I was on this shoot as this is where the trouble is.

  Any other thoughts?

  Speed the footage up 200%.

  Request the masters from your client.

  Those are the options.
