A quick 16 bit and 32 bit question
Posted by Alfonso Gamez jordano on January 2, 2008 at 8:37 pmMaybe it sounds stupid but…
Does working in 16 bit or 32 bit make After Effects go slower?
And also another quickie, how can I set AFX to have a 16/32 bit workspace as a default, instead of 8-bit?
Thanks

January 3, 2008 at 4:03 pmI can tell you that it will slow you down. More bits=more processing.
As for defaultin to 16 bit or 32 bit, I’m not sure. I thought if you just set it once then close the software, It would save it just like the windows that are open, their positions, etc.

It’s set in project settings, so it saves with any given project but cannot be made the default when creating a new project.
And yes, more bits = more slow.

I thought the same you’re telling me, but couldn’t distinguish rendering preview times from an 8-bit project and a 32-bit one.
Thanks 🙂
