  FCP7 and Mavericks issues

  Hi Guys.

  I just got a new iMac with Mavericks already installed, and now I installed FCP7. Don’t tell me to switch to another software. I also use Avid and Premiere, but now I want to use FCP7.

  The problem is this:
  When I playback my video it plays well for a while but then it stops.
  I receive some error message about RT-unlimited.

  Does anyone know what’s the problem here?

  The computer should be fast enough.

  These are the specs:
  3,5 GHz Intel Core i7
  32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
  NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB
  OS X 10.9 (13A1900)
  3,12 TB Fusion Drive

  What is your external storage? Never have media on the system drive.

  oh…
  none.

  Just the Fusion drive.
  That drive should do it right? Or should I attach an external drive via FW800 or Thunderbolt for optimal performance?

  Hook up an external drive. Never use the internal. Even a FW800 drive will work. A RAID is much faster if you have one.

  But my previous iMac never had this issue, even without external drives.

  could be in your previous system you had simply turned off the “Stop playback on dropped frames” preference.
