Best way to put an image “on the side” in FCP
Hi guys,
I’m about to do a chroma key project, where an interpreter will use sign language.
There’ll be a graphic as a full background and the interpreter will be standing to the right.
But I want to put the main program a bit “on the side” (as illustrated in my screenshot below – borrowed from https://www.svtplay.se).
Is there a built-in function for this, or even a free plug-in? I’ve been browsing through the effects tab, but I’m a bit lost here…
Any tips/tricks are greatly appreciated!

No problems with the intrepeter.
I need help with the image at the left. How do I get the perspective and scaling?

As I wrote, I haven’t really found an effect/tool that can do what I want. Sure, I do have Motion in my system, so I’d just have to fire it up and see if and how the thing can be done there.

Yes you can do it in FCP. Lookit here:
The ‘Distort” controls are what you play with. Try changing the numbers for the left top and bottom points the same amount and see what you get, which should be a trapezoidal distortion.
If this is a still and not video, set it up in Photoshop in about ten seconds and import it back.

this is a piece of cake in FCP, too.
set your canvas to Image & Wireframe (3rd tiny little pulldown menu at top of canvas)
then grab and move the wireframe in the canvas.
to add the distortion, summon up the distort tool (d)
hold Shift while dragging the corners of the image.nick
