  Plug-in for FCP to read LTC from MP3?

  I’ve been looking everywhere for software or a plug-in for FCP that could help with this. We have MP3 files from field interviews with audio on channel 1 and LTC on channel 2. They are not WAVs, just MP3s.

  I’ve tried https://www.videotoolshed.com/?page=products&pID=26 which seems like my best bet, but it doesn’t work with MP3s. I tried converting the MP3 to a WAV and then using the program and it can’t read the audio on channel 2, probably from the conversion.

  Does anyone have a recommendation for something that will serve as a TC Reader via FCP with an MP3?

  mp3 is lossy compression. LTC is best recorded as PCM in order to be usable as a timecode data signal.

  If you can’t read the signal in an external hardware timecode reader from the audio signal then software readers are also unlikely to work.
