I want to download a google hangout, import it into FCP, edit it, and then reexport it as an MP4. Problem is that the quality of the final version is much lower than the version I download from Hangouts. Any suggestions on either the import or export parameters so that I get better quality??

    Thanks,

    Art

Don’t use FCP. It doesn’t work with native MP4 well, and if you convert it to a format it likes, then convert it again…you are compressing a few times. FCX or Adobe Premiere is better suited.

Google Hangouts are videos? I thought they were “rooms.”

Thanks for the comment. Google hangouts are live video chats. You can save these video chats to YouTube and then download them as MP4s.
