  25fps-23.98 edl conversion

  I’ve been given the seemingly painful task of eye matching a cut that was done in FCP at 25fps, original ftg at 25fps. The reference cut is also at 25fps. The color corrected footage is at 23.98, and the conform needs to be at 23.98. I am having to eye match because the color correct ftg does not have any of the matching time code. The edl isn’t even loading correctly from the original footage. There are multiple speed changes as well as doubling up of the footage while flopping the image… oh joy! At the very least, I am getting speed changes and effects from the offline timeline.
  So my dilemma is needing to know what the best workflow is.
  Conform in a 25fps timeline with 23.98 CC ftg? Then copy that into a 23.98fps timeline
  Conform in a 23.98 timeline, and copy paste the 25fps edit into it as well as the reference video to match against? This will then leave gaps between some of the clips as a result
  I’ve run out of my own suggestions. any others that will explain this workflow will be much appreciated.
