I have a timeline in FCP 7.0.3 with 7 audio tracks and I want to export to a Quicktime with 2 stereo tracks. I set Audio Output under User Preference to “Stereo Monitoring: L + R” but I keep ending up with all 7 tracks in my exported Quicktime.

Funny, cause I thought I’ve done this many times before and it’s worked.

    User setting affects new sequences.

To change your existing sequence change that sequence’s sequence setting for audio output.

You have to nest the sequence (Alt-c) and then click on sequence rendering to stereo. Then export as QT and voilá – you get 2 tracks of audio,

    cheers
