December 31, 2007 at 12:24 amAppears to me that there are two portions:
Top portion is a video of actual clouds.
Bottom Portion is a picture of a city.A glow and blur are used to hide the division of the two portions and some perspective adjustments to get the two portions to match. The cloud movement is not a camera move with AE but most likely an actual film of clouds as a camera in a plane moves through the clouds…but, of course you will use some timewarping and maybe even some slight AE camera movements to adjust the look.
It will take some adjusting and tweaking to get this to look right… but, it is a pretty basic effect/view…

December 31, 2007 at 6:40 amthank you mates!i think the portion of the clouds is not very difficult but the picture of the city…how can i transform a normal 2d city’s picture into 3d?i just watched Mr.Kramers’s tutorial of 3d projection, but looks like it’s handy for a picture like a porch or a straightforward street not for a city,i cant simulate it properly,so you guys can you give me some further directions?thank you very much!

To create a perspective view of a 2d picture you simply need to either – place a mask (feathered) that is tapered at the end furtherest from the bottom…. or you can simply key-shape the picture itself…. then, move the picture into a 3D rotation.
You might look up AE’s help for 3D Object annimation for more details.
Or, start learning by creating a composition with a solid… then, turn on the 3D layer switch. Then rotate, scale and position the solid object until you get the 3D looking effect you want. The x,y,z points appear with pointer to help with the rotation and position. The yellow blocks on the corners and be moved to make the solid more narrow at one end than the other. And, the cross-hair icon marks the layer’s anchor point… which means, you can adjust the horizon line.
No matter your approach… this is something you might want to look at the manual or find a basic tutorial on using the 3D methods of AE.
