Are there any techniques for helping to make footage look less noisy/grainy?

Related to that, the footage I’m editing was shot on a Sony Z7E, there was no Gain being used when the footage was shot, but the video still looks noisy and grainy.

Any advice about how to sort this out in post or how to stop it happening when shooting?

    Thanks,
    Ben

Good lighting is key. Low light will lead to grain, even with no GAIN set. You’ll need plenty of light.

Now, this is a great noise remover, but it is also render heavy.

I added this to about 25 min of video on a 45 min project, and it took 17 hours to render.
