  zoom in through FCP

  In my video sequence, there is a one minute clip showing a close up of a letter – it is not close enough to easily capture the words on the letter so I am thinking to zoom in through FCP. Is it worth it? what’s the work flow for this? It is in HD and how many can I zoom in without losing too much resolution?

  Double click on the clip to load it into the Viewer. Go into the MOTION tab. Adjust the SCALE.

  Scaling up the existing video will also create pixellation and an overall blurriness.

  Probably the better way is to get a scan of the letter in higher resolution and place it into the same frame relationship, using Apple Motion. Then do a virtual camera zoom in Motion, and Boom: the letter will be clean and readable.
