  16-bit Chroma Keying

  Am I losing any quality by keying in 8-bit mode and switching to 16 bit prior to rendering, or do I need to stay in 16-bit for the entire process?

  No. Anything you do prior to rendering will not affect a rendered file.

  But (you knew it was coming) when doing fine adjustments you are not getting a fully representative version of the effect. This is generally not a problem between 8 & 16 bits, but can, depending on your prefs, make a huge difference when you move to 32 bit float.

  Thanks Ben. I’ve been putting off digging deep into working with 32-bit because I’m still a novice with color space schemes and unsure how to work with 8 & 16 bit effects in 32 bit mode. Guess I’d better start!
