Why on EARTH is there not a 1920×1080 AppleTV Compressor Export option?!
Posted by David Nussbaum on August 28, 2013 at 11:09 pmAm I missing something here? Compressor beautifully exports in H264 under apple devices in compressor @ 1280×720 but there is not an option for 1920×1080?
I’ve read of people trying to do it manually but I hear that it does not compress as well!
Can anyone help? So frustrating!

August 29, 2013 at 12:00 amIf you are using FCS3 then there has been no software development in over 3 years. The product was EOLd two years ago so there will be no update that gives different presets so you will have to experiment and get a good custom setting.
Try changing the frame size in Compressor and adjust data rates and save a custom preset. If you want to then help others then post your settings here.

August 29, 2013 at 12:02 amAppleTV didn’t start having 1080p content until very recently. Talking in the past year and a half or so. Well after FCP7 and Compressor 3 were made, and after they were discontinued I think too…

August 30, 2013 at 3:27 pmIt sure does. Export a “QuickTime Movie” master file and drop that into Compressor 4. If you upgrade to FCPX it has an AppleTV setting directly in the program as well.
