  • FCP X and Panasonic HVX: Clips Appear Slow-Mo, Asynchonous Audio… Codec Issue?

    Hopefully someone’s awake right now!

    I’m in a bind. I’m using FCP X 10.0.8, editing footage I shot on a Panasonic HVX-200a in 1080i60 24pA.

The Issue: All of my footage from this shoot plays back in slow motion (though motion blurred as though I was shooting in 24fps, as opposed to 60fps). The audio is full speed for about five seconds (so out of sync with the clip) and then abruptly cuts out for the remainder of the clip. In some cases, the waveforms continue throughout the clip but I can’t get any audio to play, either in FCP X or in QuickTime.

I looked at the Extended View info on the clips, and here’s what I got:
    Frame Size: 1280 x 1080
    Video Frame Rate: 23.98
Codecs: DVCPRO HD 1080i60, Linear PCM
    Video Field Dominance: Progressive
    Pulldown: 2:3
    Shooting Rate: 24
    Color Profile: HD (1-1-1)
    Audio Output Channels: 1
    Audio Sample Rate: 48 kHz
    Audio Configuration: 4 Mono

And wouldn’t you know it, this footage is due tomorrow. Any help would be AWESOME. I’ve never had this issue before.

    Cheers,
    Aaron
