    Hi,

I don’t know if anyone has seen it yet but I’m wondering how to simulate The Place Beyond the Pines transitions in FCP 6. They linger incredibly well over shots and seem to have some overlay on the composite mode but without the heavy contrast that overlaying footage often creates.

If you’ve seen the film hopefully you know what I’m talking about as they’re used several times and look great.

1 of these types of transition was used in Drive as well, just before Ryan Gosling’s character goes into the strip club with the hammer.

Sorry the vagueness of my post but don’t how else to put it really!

    Cheers.

There is no native transition like this in FCP. Look into Noise Industries FXFactory Pro. You can also play around with your composite modes to recreate it yourself.
