Keying Options
I have some footage that I need to key that was taped using the Panasonic VariCam in 720p 59.94. I will be capturing this footage using the Panasonic DVCPro HD1200 Deck. If I capture in 720p, it will give me a cleaner key, correct?
I will be compositing this footage with 1080i and maybe even some SD footage. Now, I am dealing with different frame rates. I know FCP6 has a mixed format timeline, but I want and most likely need to, use AE CS3 for most of my compositing. In the end, the final output will end up being 1080i, but I could also go with 720p and upconvert through hardware.
I am looking for the best way to mix different frame rate footage in AE? Or should I just capture my footage to be keyed in 1080i, so I have all the same frame rates?
In the past when I used 720p and put it in a 29.97 fps timeline I get extra frames..?
