Rotating Ghost
Using rotation, I made the client’s circular logo spin – just like the
Apple beachball. In the timeline, it looks good. When converted to
a Quicktime movie, using Quicktime Conversion, there is a ghost image that circles around the
(otherwise stationary) spinning logo like the earth revolves around the sun.This is a new one.
Anyone ever run into this?

Dave,
This is different from the stroboscopic effect – this
is more like the logo is having an out of body
experience. A copy of the logo, at about 50%
opacity, is circling around the original.iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB

Don’t know the reason of the ghost picture, but avoid using the “rotate” function when possible.
That force FC rendering in “lineal”, the lower quality allowed.
You can try the 3D filter, or Andy’s “Better 3D”

You said it looked great in the timeline, but not in the exported QuickTime file, so I would suspect a codec issue during export. What codec did you use for your export file?

Is the original source image you rotate a layered image like a photoshop? Maybe you have an extra layer turned on.

Change the sequence codec to Prores and render.
Avoid QT Conversion.

Yes, but there are many ways to make a QT Movie, and the final quality may depend on the workflow and the tools.
