  • Files importing as stereo, I wish they wouldn’t

    Aloha all!

I’m shooting on JVC GY-HM700 & GY-HM 750 cameras. When I import the files into FCP, they come in as stereo audio. I’d prefer they came in as 2-track mono.

I know, it’s not all that big a deal to change them, but it’s added work, and I am not a fan of added work.

I’ve crawled through the menus on the cameras, and nowhere have I found an option to record as mono or stereo. Likewise I’ve crawled through the menus and preferences on FCP 6, and nowhere do I see an option to import files as mono or stereo.

Am I just not seeing that magic option checkbox?

    mahalo!

    Hi Tom

if you click on the little pan icon next to the green speaker monitoring icons it should change from stereo to mono in the clip settings of the log and capture window.

I have added 2 pics as it not totally obvious. Hope that helps

    best wishes

    Aloha Neil,

Sorry, but that’s not the issue. The camera records QuickTime files direct to SDHC cards. No Log & Capture, no Log & Transfer, just importing files.

    Thanks for trying!
