  • Looooong renders in AE CS3

I have recently upgraded my 2004 Powermac G5, Dual 2.0
I went from 1.5GB – 5.5GB Ram, 128MB – 256MB video RAM, and from Tiger to Leopard 10.5.1, and my AE, from 6.5 to CS3

I am doing some color correction of a clients old videos, and a transfer to DVD. (Yeah, I’ve posted here b4.)

The color correction effects I am using as needed are: PhotoFilter, Levels, Hue/Contrast, and Shadow/Highlight.

Renders are taking what I consider to be too long.

Can you people weigh in on what you believe would be the right amount of time to render a two hour piece, using these filters?

My renders are taking 16 hours, which seems ridiculous.

Does anyone think this is normal?

How long should these renders be taking, with those four effects?

Is there any tweaking I can do to AE to speed this up? Any settings on the G5?

For God’s sake, I’m not doing any 3d rendering here…

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
