    I’m evaluating the FCP X trial on a 2010 MBP 17 in.

Can I import footage from an SD card without having to copy the files from the card onto a separate hard drive? I’m trying to save time for quick turn around breaking news. I’m connecting the SD card to express card slot with an adapter. My cam is a Sony NX5U with AVCHD files. I can save the project file to a separate FW GRaid but don’t want to have to copy video files to it initially.

When exporting, do I have to buy the compressor app or is there a built in QT exporter – I didn’t see one.

    Thanks!
