  24fps footage to 30 fps final export?

  I have a short project I shot in 24 fps. I shot with a Canon 7D and have 1920 x 1080 h.264 .mov files.
  I just looked over final export specs for this project — and realized I’ll need a final export of 29.97 fps in an apple intermediate codec.

  I’m assuming I need to recompress BEFORE I edit — any recommendations on compression formats?
  OR, should I edit as 24 fps and then do a final compression or conversion?
  Should I use a 3:2 pulldown? (Never used it before, don’t know exactly how it works, other than it’s occasionally used in this situation.)

  New to creative cow, and an amateur editor. Any help appreciated.

  First off, if you haven’t you need to log and transfer those files. Shane Ross has a tutorial on it if you have not done it.

  At that point you can place the clips in a 30fps time line and edit away or edit in a 24fps timeline and then convert it to 30fps in Compressor. Hope this helps and best of luck.
