  AVCHD Log and Transfer

  Hi,

  I’m currently using Final Cut Pro 7 and I have some footage that was shot on two different cameras from the same event. One was a Panasonic camera and the other is the Sony DSC-HX100V. Both Cameras shot AVCHD. I was able to convert and import the Panasonic footage through the log and transfer window in FCP 7. However, the footage shot on the Sony camera shows up in the log and transfer window but the thumbnails don’t match the footage and FCP says the duration of every clip is 0.

  All the clips play with Quick Time Player and I haven’t changed the file structure. I still have the SD card the footage was shot on as well.

  I would appreciate it if anyone could help me figure out why I can’t transfer the Sony footage even though the format of the files is the same.

  Hi Mohmmad,
  I guess FC should L&t the SONY files the same than the PANA.
  No idea why is not taking them, but if you are unable to L&t these files, you may try “5DtoRGB” (there is a free version) or ClipWrap to convert the files to prores.
  Anyway you should have a look to this tutorial that might with you some cues on the SONY stuff, which I’ve never worked with:
