Horizontal Tile Effect
Posted by Jim Zito on December 4, 2012 at 3:53 pmHello,
Does anyone know a simple way to get this effect in FCP7? I looked through some of the built-in effects.
Thanks!

December 4, 2012 at 4:22 pmHello Jim. A quick and simple way would be to create 6 layers of the same shot on top of each other and then scale some and then crop and position them.
If you need to do this many time, I would create a template in Motion and use the clone layer behavior so one layer will be cloned 6 times and follow the directions above. Since you will clone the drop zone, all you need to do is drop in your video once in Final Cut and the effect will be automatic.
Let me know if this helps.

December 4, 2012 at 8:24 pmHello Jim just add this file to Users/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Studio/Motion
Then open up Final Cut and go to sequence and click on Add Master Template. In the browser look for the Splits template and add it to your timeline. Double click on the clip and then drag and drop the video into the drop zone well in your viewer and your done 🙂
Let me know if you need any more help. 🙂
