sing along
i have a song for a bar mitzvah with lyrics and want to add/sync a little dot above the lyric when the word comes in the song (like in a Disney sing along) i have about a week to do it…so if there is an easy way that would be great, and if not any ideas??

also search karaoke ball… but if you scroll down to about dec 7, you’ll find the last post and i referenced another thread from about 5 months ago…
there isn’t really a super simple one step method to do this (unless there is an effect somewhere). but you should be able to get a song done in a couple hours or less.

you’re primarily looking for an easy way to create the oscillation or bouncing movement of the ‘ball’. then it’s a matter of keyframing the horizontal position and dealing with timing so it hits as each word is read…
in the karaoke ball thread from several months ago, jimmybee used a pretty good technique using the graph feature to create the bounce motion between 2 keyframes, then just copied and pasted those key frames and made adjustments as needed… the expression i modified used the expression to oscillate the ball, but used the position keyframe timings to generate frequency, so the ball would hit when needed.
as far as getting the text in… i would probably just copy and paste the lines of text into separate text layers, but you can try a script like this one (from motionscript.com) to import the a text file.
if you have specific questions, trouble working something out that has been suggested before or have a specific need that is not addressed, please post them… dave and i meant no offense by suggesting to search first, it’s just that many questions have been answered before…
