  Audiofile gets shorter after importing in Final Cut

  We are working on the audiotrack of a short film in Pro Tools.
  When we “bounce” the file to our hard disk there is nothing wrong. The duration of the audiotrack is 24 minutes, 3 seconds and 1 frame. The file plays perfectly in iTunes or any other media player. The duration stays the same.

  When we Import the audiofile to our bin in Final Cut things go wrong.
  The length of the audiofile turns into 24 minutes, 1 second and 12 frames.
  Of course none of the audio is sync right now.

  We can stretch the audio (play it at 99,9%) but that’s not the right way to do it.
  which creative cow can help us out? 🙂

  What frame rate are you working at? Short answer is that FCP will mess up audio imports if the frame rate of your project does not match the current Easy Setup.

  – DELETE the audio imported into FCP
  – Change the Easy Setup to match your project setting
  – QUIT FCP. (important)
  – relaunch FCP
  – reimport audio file

  It should match and stay in sync.
