Don’t really know where to put this thread.

But does anyone know of a travel hard drive that you can add to a daisy chain? Doesn’t need to have two ports, can be at the end of the chain. But most of the small hard drives I have that aren’t powered won’t mount if I daisy chain through other hard drives, they have to be directly connected to the computer.

Is the only way to add into a daisy chain is to have the hard drive powered?

    Using FW800 would be best.

I’ve got a Lacie Rugged 1TB which I use when I’m out and about which daisy chains quite happily at the end of a chain which goes MacBook Pro – GRaid (running on a power adapter) – Lacie on FW800. I suspect that the most important thing for the chain to work is that the GRaid has enough power on it’s FW800 port to run the Lacie, tbh.
