    I have no idea why this is happening
    but when I try to import wav files, the ‘interpret footage’ dialog pops up, and treats it as video
    and if i just press okay, and the file is imported, it turns into a video file that makes absolutely no sense (mainly just a black box when imported into a composition)
    the strange thing is, when i double click on the wav in the project window, it plays it as a normal audio file
    it just started happening recently, and the wav files are all normal
    in fact, some of the wav files are from previous projects, which the wavs worked (now when I try to open the old projects, AFX just crashes), and some are recorded from premiere
    I’ve tried virus scans, and reinstalling (which was rather troublesome…)
    Does anyone have any idea as to what may be going on?

    thanks in advance

    sry…. just had one of those moments where I submit a post… and i found the problem ^^;

    Apperently, i installed a program called ‘karaoke for directx’ which goes into directshow, and turns a wav or other audio file into a video file (although .wav wasn’t shown in the configuration of the file association of the program… it still linked it)

    sry for the inconvinence
