25p to 23.97p?
Just finished a 2-camera shoot with many takes. The 2nd camera accidentally shot in 25p (camera 1 is in 23.97). In FCP7, I’m not able to create a multi-cam with the two different frame rates. Does anyone know the best/easiest way to convert from 25p to 23.97?
1st camera was Canon C300.
2nd camera was Nikon D800.
I’m transcoding everything to prores.As I mentioned there are many clips, so bringing the 25p clips onto the timeline and exporting each one individually would be very time-consuming.
Plus, “export for quicktime conversion” didn’t even give me 23.97 as an option, only 24p.Anyone have an idea?

Sorry, there will be no quick way to do this. The quick way of using Cinema Tools to conform will make it not sync with the other camera, so that is out.
You will need to use Compressor to convert the footage. ALL of the footage.

I didn’t see anything for changing frame rates in compressor, just changing to various codecs.Dan S.

You need to, once you add the codec you want to change it too, go into the INSPECTOR…in the ENCODER tab. Choose VIDEO:SETTINGS. That’s where you change your frame rate.

I was able to change it to 24p, not 23.98p in compressor. I don’t see an option for the 23.98.
And FCP would not allow me to multi-clip a 24p and 23.98p in the same folder.So… I conformed the 24p clip in Cinema Tools to 23.98.
Will that work?
I’m assuming it will go slightly out of sync at some point, but might work okay for shorter clips?Let me know what you think.
