    Hi Guys, hope someone can help.

    I am editing a live gig shot with 3 cameras. I have a problem though. The safety camera which is at a nice high level is being ruined by some idiot with a spotlight illuminating the lead singer. The spot is clearly way too bright or too close, so anything caught in the spot’s pool of light is over exposed (with the rest of the band looking fine).

    You can see that the Operator was trying different exposure settings to combat this but in the main the person in the spot is basically washed out. Is there any filter in the FCP7 effects that could combat this?

    The damage may be burnt in but you can give Captain Blowout a try.

    If it is severe, then not much if anything can be done, as there is no detail to recover. You can try the Capt’s Blowout Fixer, but that works best with slight overexposure:
