    Hi Everyone,

I have a surround sound apple pro res HQ 1080i file. I have lots of tools in place to use (FCP, D5, SR, FF,)

I need to take channels 7/8 – the stereo mix and sum them to a mono mix.

what is the proper way to do this?

My initial work flow was this:
move tracks 7/8 to 9/10 in FCP hard pan left and right then send both tracks to channel 7

then out SDI to the VTR.

is this right or is there a better option?

    thank you!
