I am a little frustrated with my videos and after various tweeking and research I seem to be back at square one. Do production companies offer some type of service to help with the proper settings for cameras and editing software?

They can give you suggestions as to what settings and codecs to use.

Before you begin to shoot, you must know the final delivery. We are in a different world these days where there are so many different codecs, frame rates and frame sizes. If you don’t know em, someone else who does is gonna get the next job.

Thanks for your response Steve. What’s the best approach to figuring out what the best codec and FCP import and export settings?

There is no best setting. Choose whatever you believe gives you the best results.

    I shoot 720p/60 with the Panasonic HPX-500.
